Never Re-Type Again: Measurement Tables That Save Hours
Store measurement tables once and reuse them across patterns.
If you draft digitally, the most expensive mistake you can make is typing the same measurements over and over again. It wastes time, introduces errors, and slows down repeat work.
With PatternMaker, measurement tables solve this problem once and for all.

What Are Measurement Tables?
Measurement tables are structured lists of body measurements that can be created, saved, edited, and reused across patterns.
Designers who build macros include Master Measurement Tables (MMTs) inside their macros. When users buy those macros, they gain access to the same structured tables and can store measurements once then reuse them forever. Instead of retyping bust, waist, hip, shoulder, and lengths every time, you simply select an existing table.
Why Measurement Tables Matter
Without tables:
- You retype measurements for every draft
- Small typing errors cause fit issues
- Repeat clients still take the same setup time
With tables:
- Measurements are entered once
- Accuracy improves automatically
- Drafting becomes faster with every repeat
This is one of the biggest productivity upgrades in digital patternmaking.
How Measurement Tables Work in Practice
1. Create or Import a Measurement Table
You can create a measurement table in PatternMaker/Settings in the Top Menu. Each MMT contains named measurement fields defined by the macro creator.
2. Save One Table Per Person
Best practice:
- One table per client, model, or family member
- Use a clear naming system:
Name–Year–Month (e.g., Nneka-2025-02)
This makes it easy to track updates and fittings over time.
3. Update After Fittings
After a fitting:
- Adjust measurements as needed
- Add light notes (posture, preferred ease, asymmetry)
Your table evolves with the client—without starting from scratch.
4. Select the Table When Running a Macro
When you generate a pattern:
- Choose the saved measurement table
- Run the macro
- Get a body-specific draft instantly
No retyping. No guessing.
Where Measurement Tables Are Used
Measurement tables work seamlessly with Pre-made pattern collections. Once created, the same table can power dozens of patterns.
Saved Measurement Tables Ensure:
- Faster drafting
- Better accuracy
- Effortless repeat orders
- Perfect for families, clients, and production runs
You measure once—and let your software do the rest.
You can also print and share measurement tables.
Measurement tables don’t just save time. They protect your workflow.
