Launch a Mini-Collection Fast: Three Styles from One Block

Build multiple sellable looks that all share your trusted fit.

 

Steps

  1. Create a well-fitting basic block/sloper. Test for fit. If it passes reproduce it in different sizes. Name it house block
  2. Duplicate your house block to three files- each size is replicated 3ce. 
  3. Vary neckline, hem, sleeve, hem, hip and waist style. 
  4. Add seam allowances. Adjust seam allowances per edge (narrow for curves, wider for side seams).
  5. Add notches to seams for assembly.
  6. Cut out the smallest size in sample fabric and test each style. Edit style details if required. 
  7. Cut all the patterns in required fabric and produce your collection.
